World’s 50 Best Restaurants 2017: Live from Melbourne

World’s 50 Best Restaurants 2017

We are now just days away from the World’s 50 Best Restaurants 2017 for which S.Pellegrino® and Acqua Panna® are the official water. The fifteenth edition of world-renowned gastronomic awards event takes place in Australia for the first time ever on April 5 at the Royal Exhibition Building in Melbourne. It will be live streamed from 8pm AEST (12am CEST) on Fine Dining Lovers.

Will Italy’s Massimo Bottura take the top title for the second year in a row with his Modena-based Osteria Francescana? Or will the Spanish Roca brothers, who were placed second in 2016, regain the top spot with their Girona-based El Celler de Can Roca? Or will Daniel Humm and Will Guidara’s New York-based Eleven Madison Park, last year’s number 3, emerge victorious?

The World’s 50 Best program will commence this year with a series of events that include #50BestTalks sponsored by S.Pellegrino® and Acqua Panna®. The #50BestTalks will be an opportunity for food lovers to get a rare insight into the world’s best restaurants and hear from the world’s best chefs on what drives them and gives them that extra edge.

On April 1, #50BestTalks Sydney at the Sydney Opera House will feature San Francisco based Dominique Crenn, Massimo Bottura, Peter Gilmore and Brett Graham. On April 3, #50BestTalks Melbourne at Margaret Court Arena will feature Daniel Humm and Will Guidara from New York’s Eleven Madison Park, Chicago-based Grant Achatz as well as Gaggan Anand and Jordi Roca.

Mitch Lienhard from the USA and Mark Moriarty, the two previous winners of S.Pellegrino® Young Chef (which is now taking applications for its third edition) will also be present at these talks to share their experience in creating world leading dishes.

Ahead of the official awards ceremony this year’s list of the World’s Best Restaurants 51-100 has just been announced. See the list on FineDiningLovers.

In addition, some chefs have already been selected for special awards. Ana Ros from Slovenia has been named as the World's Best Female Chef 2017, while Heston Blumenthal has been recognized for his services to the industry with the Diner's Club® Lifetime Achievement Award 2017 and Disfrutar restaurant in Barcelona has been picked as the recipient of the Miele One to Watch Award. These winners will receive their awards live at the ceremony on April 5 in Melbourne.

Don’t miss any of the action, follow the build up and then watch the livestream from 8pm AEST (12am CEST) on Fine Dining Lovers.

And follow S.Pellegrino® at World’s 50 Best on our social channels using #Worlds50Best, #50BestTalks, #sanpellegrino and #SPTaste.
