S.Pellegrino's global commitment to #SupportRestaurants

Side by side with the chef community, S.Pellegrino is helping the global restaurant industry survive and relaunch itself, providing tangible support in these challenging times under the #SupportRestaurants banner. It's doing so through a variety of initiatives launched by local associations and foundations active in different countries around the world, including 50 Best for Recovery and the 'Bid for Recovery' Auction, the James Beard Foundation's Food and Beverage Industry Relief Fund, and numerous others.

 

In South Africa, for example, S.Pellegrino has donated to the Eat Out Restaurant Relief Fund. Launched in April to collect contributions from businesses and individuals, the fund supports restaurants that have chosen to keep operating as "off-site kitchens", preparing food for local communities in need. The organisation behind the Fund, Eat Out, is a restaurant guide and one of the country's best loved brands in the gastronomy sector. Meanwhile in France, S.Pellegrino is supporting restaurants through donations to two local initiatives. J'aime mon bistrot provides tangible support to restaurant owners during the crisis by allowing customers to pre-purchase vouchers for meals that can be enjoyed once their favourite venues reopen. S.Pellegrino has also joined forces with culinary guide Le Fooding to promote Plat de Résistance!, a free digital service that helps consumers find the best home delivery, take away and table services all over France. In its home country of Italy, the brand has chosen to support the restaurants that helped S.Pellegrino become an Italian icon around the world by providing significant quantities of free product. In Germany, S.Pellegrino has made available 100 vouchers for restaurants to make purchases from METRO C&C. The brand has also participated in a local initiative in Frankfurt, Frankfurt bleibt stabil, by purchasing promotional T-shirts and giving them to partner restaurants, who can then offer them to customers buying meal vouchers or home deliveries. In the UK, on the other hand, S.Pellegrino has partnered with Deliveroo to support restaurants on their platform by offering free goods.
